We’re all about empowering women to be their best selves, so this month we’re sharing 10 habits you need to start practicing if you’re committed to being the ultimate woman in charge.
Start your day with positive affirmations.
The more you tell yourself that you love yourself, the more you’ll believe it. If you don’t buy it, try it tomorrow. Wake up early, make your bed, look yourself in the mirror, start by smiling, and then think of positive words to motivate you throughout the day. It can be as simple as: “Today is my day!”
Write your to-do lists the night before.
Staying organized is everything. If you want to get things done, jot it down right away. It’s proven that the act of writing things down can be life-changing. It’s basically acknowledging what you want and making sure you’re achieving it. Establishing a regular routine where you review your goals for the next day also helps you be more productive and efficient at work and in life.
Dress for success.
Everything you do makes some kind of statement, so no matter what your challenge, dress appropriately and accordingly. Whether you’re off to the gym, to a high-powered meeting, or simply picking up the kids from school, be as presentable as you can be, and remember to dress for the job you want – not the job you currently have.
Book your fitness classes a week in advance.
Be the boss of your own time. Book your classes in advance and plan your workouts ahead. Successful people, no matter how busy they are, always find time to prioritize taking care of their body.
Gratitude is the best attitude.
Make it a habit to be grateful for the little moments in life. Remember to say thank you and be appreciative of others’ help and guidance whenever you can. Expressing your thanks can be a way to motivate other people and yourself to do better.
Go out and socialize.
Broaden your network and make meaningful relationships with people. (That may mean you need to put down your phone!) Whether they’re colleagues, neighbors or people you meet at the gym, find time to reach out and connect with other like-minded individuals. If you’re not the most confident of speakers, you can also use these social moments to practice your communication skills and improve on them!
Plan your meals.
You’ll be surprised by how effective a little meal prepping is when you want to start eating well. Also, never miss breakfast. EVER. You’ll soon realize that a healthy breakfast is the best way to kick-start your day and provides you with the energy you need to tackle any challenges head on.
Invest in rest.
Aside from eating nutritious food and exercising, one of the most important keys to staying healthy is getting a good night’s sleep so you can feel refreshed and ready to overcome challenges and achieve more the next day.
Budget like a boss.
Money matters are tricky, there’s no doubt about that. Keeping track of your finances and allocating money in the right amounts in the right places is important if you want to lead a successful life.
Stay curious.
There’s always room for more knowledge. Don’t be afraid to ask questions on topics you’re not an expert in. Always remember that relevant additional information is always value added to yourself.
